Hi Gary, good luck and sorry to hear about your situation. You are 100% correct on everything. Keep us updated when you get the car back. Our 2018 only has 50k on it and I have done one DBCam and about 7 or 8 control resets and I'm sitting at about 35Ah which is not too bad. I can still get 35km+ in the summer. But it's only because I have taken matters into my own hands. Yes control resets are not recommended unless you get a new battery but we all know that the BMU software aggressively reduces the usable Ah -- too aggressively. The reset helps and I have noticed the car does not charge to more than 4.104V per cell even though I've done the control reset. Knock on wood so far so good but I plan to only keep the car another 2 years or so. Next vehicle will be full electric. We looked at the 2023 PHEV but for many reasons decided against it including lack of battery heater, seating position (we didn't like it vs. our 2018), lack of some modern features like "camp" mode, and a bunch of other reasons, but also a main one is I don't want to play the "how far can you get in EV mode before the engine comes on" game anymore.

your a git! new outlander phev has totally different batteries they wont have same issues. so do your homework u cry baby buy a high end obd2 scan tool and do your own db cam, bmu reset, and capacity reset!

Lots of rail will also increase your detection depth. I get this with every machine I use. After a good soaking is prime detecting time!

Sorry to hear you're going through this. My Sonata PHEV had been rock solid up until the check engine light came on and needed a fuel injector and fuel soaked catalytic replaced. Extended warranty covered it thankfully but now the lights back on 200km later. The EV battery has only lost 3km out of 45 since 2019 but im now concerned about the reliability of the gas engine

Gary so I believe you have my vin number as a person who had his battery replaced (I think)…I’m open to you using my information to get your battery replaced. Here’s a few things I’ve noticed and learnt. Battery resets, DBCAMs are extremely detrimental to this particular vehicle. Why I say this? I also have a Tesla and they have a similar procedure like DBCAM though the process is extremely simple to do and it is built it to the screen but they say do not do this unless we get a notification from Tesla something is up with the battery. So DBCAM and resets just accelerate degradation and I know Mitsubishi have done it to our vehicles but they had no idea. It’s very detrimental. Next after I got my battery replaced, my air conditioning was super cold. I asked why? They said they Freon was low and when they replace batteries they have to drain the refrigerant. Now potentially your refrigerant is low and isn’t proving the cooling for the battery to ensure it doesn’t over heat. Next I do not charge with level 2 after I got my battery replaced. It’s only 110 volt. I do not regenerate the battery to B5 level because the amount of charge going into the battery is significant that their own technology isn’t able to handle the amount of heat being generated causing further degradation. Next I do not use charge mode because once again if we can fill 80 percent of battery in 40 mins of driving , this too indicates that we are in once sense DC charging the vehicle. The only feature I use is the save mode. Hope this information helps and if you want me to conference call your dealership with my information, I am willing to help. I have the same issues with Mitsubishi Australia...... nothing but issues..... $18K for a new battery..... I haven't driven it for 8 mths.... it's serious dangerous to drive.... these cars are DUDS !!!!

Sorry hear you had to go through this BS. Mitsubishi shame on you. I recently upgraded to a Lightning, my previous car was a 2017 Chevy Volt with 315k and still was getting 72km on a charge in warm weather. Thanks for all your videos.

Hey Mr Reed ,On your Rant We do listen ,We can see you are very emotional, Very angry,upset ,very disgruntled by Mitsubishi management and local dealership ,de tuning ,up charging etc Warranties do mean something Gary ,Depends on which aspects they cover We understand your predicament after 6 years and the depreciation/ deterioration of the battery usage Gary - You are so fired up ,This is your rant ,Why do u get this Mad ,even if you are going through a law suit Unfortunately knowing what I know in green cars I would never buy a New electric car ,only now battery charged hybrid and now only Toyota ,I have no issue with my Toyota in 6 years after 89,000 miles ,only this year with a whinning on the alternator bearing, 6 weeks on noise not increased so until noise gets louder thats when it needs fixing ,I have been informed Why can't your prayers lower your anger ,frustrations Gary Pray longer ,more meaningful for a best outcome please 🙏 We are sorry you have been through this experience with Mitsubishi, Continue fighting for the best outcome and solutions We say in SGI Buddism, No matter what you are going thru ,Pray ,Pray for a solution ,Conquer your mind ,Don't let your mind conquer you🙏

My 2015 model still does around 20 miles on battery only, although it only has 40k miles as I also run an MG5 BEV. My commute is only 16 miles round trip and is easy done without the engine starting, unless I put my foot down.

Totally understand, i had the PHEV 2018 SE. just under 6years, 153000km, battery was at 56% on Watchdog...Thank god i trading in this garbage vehicle for a much better car
